50 Years of Preserving Knowledge and Sparking Discovery

Nearly 50 years ago, UC San Diego had a student population of less than 6,000 students. Today, more than 7,500 students, faculty, staff, and community members walk through the doors of Geisel Library each day. As the university continues to grow, Geisel Library must be nimble and thrive to meet the demands of today’s post-secondary scholars.

While celebrating the 50th anniversary of Geisel Library, we have identified giving opportunities that will help us ensure Geisel Library remains as iconic on the inside as it is on the outside.

Our work is supported in part by alumni, faculty, parents, and friends who generously share their talents and gifts with the Library. These donations allow the Library to continue to provide excellent resources and services to the Triton family and pursue opportunities to transform the way our students and faculty learn and teach.
